Valve has rolled out an exciting new update for CS2 on August 8, 2024, bringing a range of enhancements and fixes to improve the overall gameplay experience. Here’s a detailed look at what’s new:
[Gameplay]
- Additional XP in Casual Mode: Players will now earn extra XP for each round they inflict damage on enemies, making every engagement more rewarding.
- Server Settings Adjustment: A new server setting “sv_vote_to_changelevel_rndmin” has been added to control the rounds or time during which players can vote to change the map.
- Voting Restrictions in Official Servers:
- Casual Mode: Players can vote to change the map only at the end of the match or during the first round.
- Deathmatch and Arms Race Modes: Players can vote to change the map only at the end of the match or during the first minute of play.
- Movement Restrictions: The upward movement of a player is now restricted when a teammate jumps on their head, preventing unintended boosts.
- Weapon Pickup Restriction: Dead players can no longer pick up weapons from the ground.
- Team Swap Menu Improvement: The buy menu will now automatically close if the team swap menu opens.
- Hostage Rescue Objective: Rescuing a hostage is now counted in the match statistics, adding more emphasis on completing objectives.
[Interface]
- Damage Report Enhancement: The readability of damage dealt and received in the post-round damage report has been improved.
- Silhouette Effect: The intensity of the target silhouette effect in spectator mode has been increased for better visibility.
- Player Names Visibility: Player names are now visible on the expanded mini-scoreboard, enhancing team coordination.
[Maps]
- Mills and Assembly: Both maps have been updated to their latest versions available on the Workshop, bringing improved designs and fixes.
