Grinding Gear Games has rolled out a significant update for Path of Exile 2, addressing player feedback, improving quality of life, and rebalancing several core systems. Patch 0.2.0e, released on April 10, 2025, brings changes to Act 3 areas, player balance, boss encounters, crafting, and more. Here’s a breakdown of the most important updates.

Act 3 Area Overhaul
Multiple Act 3 areas have been redesigned to improve layout clarity, navigation flow, and overall pacing:
- Dead ends removed in locations like The Drowned City and Utzaal, minimizing frustrating backtracking.
- The Apex of Filth was streamlined into a more linear, faster-to-navigate map.
- Adjustments to Infested Barrens, Azak Bog, Chimeral Wetlands, and more to reduce unnecessary wandering and improve checkpoint placement.
- Instance timeouts increased to prevent accidental area resets when returning from side areas.
Player Balance Changes
Extensive balance adjustments were made to several classes and mechanics:
Bleed/Chaos Inoculation Rework
- Bleeding now triggers on Energy Shield damage, not just life.
- Chaos Inoculation grants Bleeding immunity.
- New Jewel and Time-lost Jewel modifiers scale ailment and stun thresholds with Energy Shield.
Sorceress Adjustments
- Arc now releases damage pulses on Shocked enemies without consuming Shock.
- Eye of Winter benefits from passing through other elemental orbs.
- Incinerate and Frost Bomb exposure durations increased.
- Mana Tempest now works with all spells.
- Improved freeze buildup and ignite spreading mechanics.
Huntress, Warrior, and Ranger Reworks
- Huntress: New Bleeding mechanics, larger skill radii, and improvements to Herald of Blood.
- Warrior: Enhanced Temper Weapon and Shield Wall, quicker channelling, and reworked armour break effects.
- Ranger: Bigger skill radii for Stormcaller Arrow and Lightning Arrow, stronger Lightning Rod, and extended Tornado Shot duration.
Other Player Tweaks
- Rally Support now works with all melee attacks.
- Glory isn’t consumed if the skill is interrupted.
New Support Gem: Inhibitor
A brand-new support gem, Inhibitor, was introduced. It prevents skills from consuming charges while increasing supported skill damage by 4% per active charge type. Available from Uncut Support Tier 2+.
Delirium Improvements
- Delirium encounters last 2.5x longer.
- The Delirium Fog front now moves independently, avoiding accidental pauses.
- Strongboxes now pause Delirium both when opened and completed.
Boss Fight Refinements
- Viper Napuatzi’s Chaos Rains reduced in size and number.
- Uxmal’s energy shield no longer recharges mid-air and uses fewer Flame Breaths.
- Xyclucian’s arena cleaned up visually for clearer combat readability.
Minion System Changes
- Minion revive timers now stack more gracefully, preventing endless resets.
- Disenchanting Bind Spectre or Tame Beast gems unbinds the minion for reuse.
- Tamed beasts can now navigate through player-sized gaps.
Crafting and Itemization
- Caster weapon runes fully implemented with unique modifiers for wands and staves.
- Renly’s shop now sells a Blank rune, transformable into any elemental rune.
- Twelve Artificer’s Orbs placed at fixed locations across the campaign.
- New runes (Adept, Robust, Resolve) to help early game attribute requirements.
Rare Monster Visibility in Endgame
Rare monsters will now always appear on the minimap, reducing the chance of missing them while exploring.
General Monster and Map Adjustments
- Monster interrupt behavior was reduced for many fast enemies.
- Act 1 and 2 areas rebalanced for density and enemy variety.
- Improved navigation, reduced elite density, and fixed visual and mechanical issues in Act 3 maps.
Bug Fixes
Several critical issues were addressed:
- Blood Boils propagation, Divine Orbs, and Unique Jewels now work correctly.
- Whirlwind Lance, Essence of the Infinite, and strongbox mechanics fixed.
- Resolved crashes and minor desync issues.
