Bellabel Park – The Central Hub

Bellabel Park is the main hub where most of the new content is located. It connects different gameplay modes and progression systems.
Attraction Central is divided into three areas:
- Local Multiplayer Plaza: up to four players on the same system
- Game Room Plaza: online or local wireless play with up to twelve players
- Tour Plaza: a sequence of challenges played in a row
For beginners, starting with local multiplayer or smaller challenges is recommended, as they help build familiarity with movement and timing.
Camp Central and Toad Brigade Training

Camp Central introduces the Toad Brigade training system, which is one of the most important additions for learning the game.
- There are 74 training courses
- Courses are unlocked as you progress
- Missions reward a currency called Bellabel Water
Completing courses increases your rank within the Toad Brigade. Milestones are reached after clearing a set number of courses, with the final goal being the Elite Explorer rank.
These missions are designed to help players improve specific skills such as jumping accuracy, timing, and level navigation.
Bellabel Water and Park Progression
Bellabel Water is earned through activities such as training missions and multiplayer attractions.
It is used to:
- Grow flowers in Bellabel Park
- Unlock decorative and interactive elements
- Expand features such as the Poplin Band
As the park develops, more content and interactions become available. This system adds a layer of progression outside of the main story.
New Playable Characters

Rosalina
Rosalina is now a fully playable character.
- Uses the same abilities as Mario and other characters
- Can access all power-ups
- Fits into both single-player and multiplayer modes
This makes her a flexible option for any type of player without changing the core gameplay mechanics.
Luma (Co-Star Character)
Luma appears as a support character in multiplayer.
- Cannot take damage
- Can defeat enemies and collect items
- Moves freely across the level
Luma is designed to assist other players, making cooperative play more accessible and reducing difficulty for less experienced players.
New Power-Up: Flower Form

A new power-up allows players to transform into a flower-based form.
This ability enables players to:
- Create vertical platforms
- Attack enemies using plant-based abilities
- Extend movement and reach higher areas
This changes how levels are approached, especially by encouraging vertical exploration and alternative paths.
Koopalings and New Story Content
Koopalings return as key bosses in this expansion.
- Each Koopaling appears in a different world
- Levels lead up to individual boss encounters
- Bosses include new transformations and mechanics
This structure adds a new progression path, where players track and defeat each Koopaling across the game world.
Multiplayer Modes Explained
This edition expands multiplayer options significantly.
Available modes include:
- Versus: players compete against each other
- Co-op: players work together to complete objectives
- Tour mode: multiple challenges played in sequence
Some modes are limited to local play, while others support online functionality. Multiplayer is integrated into both short challenges and structured sequences.
Assist Mode
Assist Mode is an optional feature designed to make the game more accessible.
It includes:
- No damage from enemies
- No penalty for falling
- Easier progression through levels
This mode allows players to focus on learning mechanics and exploring levels without difficulty barriers.
How to Approach the Game as a Beginner
A recommended progression path for new players:
- Start with main levels to understand basic mechanics
- Use Camp Central to practice and improve skills
- Explore multiplayer attractions for variety
- Collect Bellabel Water to expand the park
- Progress through the story and defeat the Koopalings
This approach helps balance learning, progression, and exploration.

- A fully interactive hub with progression systems
- Expanded multiplayer features
- New characters and abilities
- Additional story content
- Improved accessibility options
These changes make the experience broader and more flexible, offering multiple ways to play and progress through the game.
