In Tower Dominion:
players take control of one of three distinct factions, each bringing its own identity, strengths, and strategic priorities to the field:
- The Iron Drons specialize in fortifying their headquarters, turning it into a nearly impenetrable fortress. With commanders like Sergeant Girog stationed directly atop the HQ, the base itself becomes a core part of the defense strategy. The faction excels in structural upgrades and sustainable defense over time.
- The Lions of Ravel Sky are a more aggressive faction, sending their commanders into battle alongside regular units. With abilities like Star’s Call, which allows instant upgrades for all infantry when enemy waves appear, this faction focuses on active combat engagement rather than passive defense.
- The Pargan Assault Group dominates resource manipulation, particularly Recon, and has commanders that synergize directly with it. Their HQ upgrades are entirely Tech-driven and selectable at the start of each match, allowing for pre-planned builds and early-game customization.
Resource system in Tower Dominion
The resource system in Tower Dominion introduces a tri-layered economy based on Supply, Recon, and Tech:
- Supply is the most abundant and essential resource, used for building standard towers and many upgrades. It is gained between waves and by defeating enemies, even if they reach your base.
- Recon is a mid-tier resource used for rolling new Zone expansion tiles and constructing Recon-specific towers like the Scout Hideout.
- Tech is the rarest resource. Players begin each game with a limited amount and typically cannot gain more, making Tech-based decisions critical. Certain upgrades, such as the Salamander Heavy Flamer for the Puma Position, consume Tech instead of the other resources.
One standout feature of Tower Dominion is its Zone Expansion system. Every second wave, players are offered a new expansion tile with up to four entry points, allowing them to shape the battlefield itself. This introduces a spatial planning element uncommon in the genre — where to expand becomes just as important as what to build.
Terrain elevation plays a key role in strategy. Towers built on higher ground gain increased range, with bonuses stacking up to +3. This terrain mechanic adds further tactical depth, rewarding players for optimal tower placement.
Difficulty levels are directly linked to the number of battlefronts — entrances leading to the player’s HQ. Higher difficulties mean more entry points and more pressure from multiple angles, challenging even experienced players to think several moves ahead.
Additionally, once a level is completed, players can activate Endless Mode, allowing them to continue playing beyond the regular campaign until they’re ultimately overwhelmed. This opens up opportunities for score chasing and endurance testing, adding replayability for dedicated fans.
Tower Dominion is currently available on Steam, where players can try out a free demo. With complex faction mechanics, in-depth resource management, and evolving battlefield conditions, it offers a unique take on tower defense for fans of the genre.
