However, the games that are launching this month offer a rich variety of genres, ensuring there’s something for everyone—from ambitious mobile games to HD remasters, spine-tingling horror, and playful simian antics.
Destiny 2: The Final Shape — June 4
Destiny 2’s latest expansion, The Final Shape, is set to be a pivotal update, concluding the decade-long Light and Darkness saga. This expansion introduces the Prism subclass, new enemies, and a topsy-turvy world inside the Traveler. Bungie promises significant changes and an epic battle where all of creation is at stake.
Killer Klowns From Outer Space: The Game — June 4
The cult-classic horror movie, Killer Klowns From Outer Space, gets a new life as an asymmetrical multiplayer video game. Players can choose to survive as the citizens of Crescent Cove or hunt them down as the Killer Klowns, using a variety of circus-themed gadgets.
Star Wars: Hunters — June 4
Star Wars: Hunters is a third-person PvP arena action game arriving on mobile devices. Players can engage in battles as iconic characters like Stormtroopers, Jedi, and Wookies. Zynga aims to engage its dedicated players with a “Hunters of the Outer Rim” competition available at launch.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage — June 6
Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Mirage, already a hit on PC and console, makes its way to select mobile devices. This game, set in ancient Baghdad, showcases the capabilities of Apple’s latest M4-equipped hardware, bringing the open-world experience to iOS users.
Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance — June 14
Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance, an enhanced edition of the original game, features 75 extra hours of content, a new story route called Canon of Vengeance, more demons, and tougher choices. It’s set to break free from its Nintendo Switch exclusivity this month.
Monster Hunter Stories — June 14
Originally a 2016 Nintendo 3DS exclusive, Monster Hunter Stories is coming to PC, Switch, and PS4 with upgraded HD visuals and full voiceovers. Its sequel, Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, will also debut on PS4, expanding the series’ reach to a broader audience.
Still Wakes the Deep — June 18
The Chinese Room, known for Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs and Dear Esther, introduces Still Wakes the Deep. Set on an oil rig during a storm, players must survive an unknown horror that has invaded the platform, making for an immersive and terrifying experience.
Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree — June 21
The expansion to the acclaimed Elden Ring, Shadow of the Erdtree, offers a wealth of new content, including new enemies, equipment, and a fresh storyline. June is the perfect month for players to return to The Lands Between.
Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble — June 25
RGG Studio, known for the Yakuza series, presents a new entry in the Super Monkey Ball franchise. This game emphasizes multiplayer fun, allowing up to 16 players to compete online across various modes, or enjoy a four-player co-op and a new Adventure Mode.
Riven — June 25
The classic 1997 game Riven is being remade from the ground up in Unreal Engine 5. This modern version will feature additional puzzles, an expanded 3D world, and updated storylines, available on PC and VR platforms.
Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD — June 27
More than 10 years after it first launched on the Nintendo 3DS, Luigi is back to bust some ghosts. Now going under the title of Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD, this enhanced version of the charming adventure adds several graphical tweaks to the experience. Beyond that, you can expect all the same puzzles, enemies, and even the ScareScraper multiplayer mode in this updated version.
