The LCP Mid Season Format
The LCP Mid Season follows a traditional format split into two major phases: the Regular Season and the Playoffs.
- Regular Season: The eight participating teams will face off in a single round-robin tournament, with each match being a best-of-three series. The competition will feature the Fearless Draft, a unique format extension introduced for the season, and each series will include a 1v1 battle to determine the side selection for each match.
- Playoffs: Following the round-robin phase, the top six teams will advance to the double-elimination playoffs bracket. The first two rounds of the playoffs will be best-of-three series, with subsequent series being best-of-five. The two finalists will clash on June 8th to crown the Mid Season champions.
Teams to Watch
The LCP Mid Season Split will feature eight teams, including both partner and guest teams from the first split:
- CTBC Flying Oyster (Partner)
- Fukuoka SoftBank HAWKS (Partner)
- GAM Esports (Partner)
- TALON (Partner)
- Chiefs Esports Club (Guest)
- DetonatioN FocusMe (Guest)
- Secret Whales (Guest)
- Vikings Esports (Guest)
Expect CTBC Flying Oyster (CFO) and TALON Esports to lead the charge following their dominant performance in Split 1. CFO, in particular, gained significant international experience by almost defeating the LEC champions, Karmine Corp, during First Stand.
The Vietnamese teams GAM Esports and Vikings Esports are also likely to be contenders, with GAM aiming to improve on its previous international results. However, the gap between the top four teams and the bottom four teams has been evident in the first split, and it’s expected that this trend will continue in the upcoming Mid Season.
How to Watch the LCP Mid Season
The LCP Mid Season will officially begin on April 19th, with matches streamed live in multiple languages. English broadcasts will be available on both Twitch and YouTube, alongside streams in Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese, and Thai to cater to a global audience.
To ensure more engaging and exciting matchups, the starting time for matches has been moved 30 minutes earlier, now set for 17:30 CST (9:30 GMT). The first week will feature two key matchups: a high-stakes PCS battle between CFO and TALON, as well as an intriguing match between Secret Whales and GAM Esports.
Additionally, Riot Games has announced the opening of the LCP Arena, where fans will have the chance to watch the games live in person. More details on the venue and tickets will be revealed later.
The Road to MSI and Esports World Cup
